BLACK ENTERPRISE Magazine seeks talented and motivated college Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students to participate in our 2006 Summer Internship Program.
Interested students are expected to have demonstrated an interest in publishing and have a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Internships are normally available in any department in the Company, however students interested in internships in the Editorial department should provide published writing samples as part of their application materials. Our 2006 Summer Internship Program begins on June 5, 2006 and continues through August 11, 2006. Interested students should forward their resumes, cover letters and writing samples (if applicable).

DOCUMENTARY INTERN NEEDED
Seeking an intern to dedicate a minimum of 2 days per week to assist the producers during post-production of a nationally broadcast PBS documentary based out of Brooklyn. THE LAST CONQUISTADOR will air on the award-winning series, POV. Long-tiime PBS producer John Valadez is Executive Producer.
A world famous sculptor builds the largest statue of its kind ever created in human history, but Native Americans believe it is a monument to genocide and white supremacy. Literally caught in between are the people of El Paso, Texas where the statue is being constructed. They are the conflicted sons and daughters of both the Indians who were enslaved and the Spanish who brutalized them. Protests, conflicting visions of history and an artists quixotic quest transform this isolated border town in unexpected ways.
Intern should know Final Cut Pro because she/he will perform media management, dubbing and file exchanges with the editor. It should be great fun and a big challenge. An opportunity to receive a credit on high profile nationally broadcast film. Could lead to more work in the future.

This intern will have the opportunity to monitor, record and log local and national LGBT Spanish Language Media coverage thereby significantly improving GLAAD's visibility and coverage in the American Spanish speaking media community. This intern will also have the opportunity to prepare and assist at community media trainings, to attend local LGBT Latino meetings and to work directly with constituents in the field on media needs and media issues that are relevant to Spanish Language Media Communities. Job Description: GLAAD has an immediate need for a Communications Special Projects Intern in the Los Angeles Office. During their internship, this person will hone his/her research and writing skills; gain valuable non-profit experience with a focus on the LBGT movement and HIV/ AIDS issues; and gain experience in what materials go into making a vibrant and useful web channel.
The primary function of this intern's time will be to research, compile and write materials for a "25 Years of HIV/AIDS" channel on glaad.org and as needed for other components of this new GLAAD initiative. This intern will have the opportunity to: update and aggregate articles and news clips about HIV/AIDS, compile references for an online tool for journalists, and research materials for special reports about how LGBT issues and HIV/ AIDS has been covered in various areas of media.
Qualifications: Applicants should be enrolled in a degree program at least half-time as a graduate or undergraduate student, or have successfully completed a graduate or undergraduate degree within the 12 months preceding the application deadline. CENTER MEDIA SEEKS INTERN- NYC*
Center Media is seeking an intern for the Winter/Spring Semester (January - May 2006) to work in video and television production. This is an unpaid internship position and must be for college credit.
This is a hands-on production position working on several aspects of the Center's cable access monthly series "Out at the Center" as well as other social justice and health-related media projects that the Center produces.
The Center Media intern will have an opportunity to participate in preproduction planning for segments, production scheduling and equipment, postproduction activity including tape dubbing, and editing. You will be able to write and produce wrap-arounds for the show. The intern will also be able to assist with media training for new volunteer producers, including camera and Final Cut Pro workshops.
Required: 15-20 hour/week on a regular schedule. You must know how to work a digital video camera. You must be able to edit on Final Cut Pro. You will also need to have a reliable professional manner, good communication skills. PC and Mac computer skills.
