Human in Action Summer Program

I am writing to request your assistance in distributing the attachedannouncements for a set of summer programs for which I am currentlyseekingapplicants.Humanity in Action sponsors six summer programs on minority and humanrightsissues in Europe and the United States. We will select a total of 62students from U.S. colleges and universities to participate in the 2007programs. We welcome applicants from all academic disciplines who areactively seeking new perspectives on minority issues. Fellows areselectedon the basis of academic achievement, leadership ability, and commitmenttohuman rights and minority issues. The 2007 summer programs will takeplacein Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, New York, Paris, and Warsaw. To ensureparticipation of all qualified applicants, HIA pays virtually all of thecosts of participation.Humanity in Action (HIA) is a New York-based not-for-profit organizationfounded in 1998. Seeking Culturally and Ethnically Diverse NEW writers...
Nickelodeon is offering writing fellowships in live action and animated television to culturally and ethnically diverse, new writers. Participants will have hands-on experience writing spec scripts and pitching story ideas.
The program, developed to broaden Nickelodeon's outreach efforts, provides a salaried position for up to one year. The '07 - '08 cycle is tentatively scheduled to begin in October 2007.

Tribeca Film Institute/Sloan Screenplay Development Program call for scriptsDEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION DECEMBER 15, 2006The Tribeca Film Institute today announced the continuation of its screenplay development program with a call for scripts with scientific or technological themes and/or characters. The Tribeca/Sloan Screenplay Development Program is funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.The Tribeca/Sloan Screenplay Development Program seeks scripts that have a scientific or technological theme and story line or have a leading character who is a scientist, engineer, or mathematician. The program will not accept science fiction story lines. One writer and/or writer-producer will be provided with financial support and insight from an advisory panel of leading filmmakers and experts in science and technology over the period of one year. Advisors will provide input on script revisions and assist in moving the script from development into production.
