Position at the Rockefeller Foundation
The Rockefeller Foundation ("the Foundation") is a global foundation with a mission to combat the root causes of inequity and expand opportunities for people falling behind in a rapidly changing world. To support this mission, the Foundation is committed to working both globally, as well as on the ground in pivotal places where the consequences of globalization, for good or ill, are experienced.
The Foundation focuses its work intensively in Eastern and Southern Africa, the Greater Mekong Sub-region of Southeast Asia and North America. The Foundation emphasizes the importance of both generating new knowledge and applying knowledge to address the complex and difficult challenges faced by poor people. Its focus includes agricultural, biological and health sciences, social and behavioral science, technology, research and analysis, and public policy.
Position:
The Special Projects Associate will work directly with the COO and operations department directors on a variety of special projects.
Projects could include designing and implementing a new contracting process or creating an approach for multi-year budgeting.
The Special Projects Associate will have the opportunity to work with the following departments: Financial Resources (including the Treasurer's office which manages the Foundation's endowment), Human Resources, Facilities (including our 3 regional offices-- Italy, Kenya, Thailand), Information technology, Records management, Library, and Risk Management.
Projects will vary in type, length and intensity so a successful candidate must be able to prioritize, focus on end products, and work independently and with teams. Work will involve benchmarking the Foundation's financial and operational performance against peer organizations, and importing best practices from industry to guide the Foundation's operational and financial management.
This is a unique opportunity to help align operational functions to meet the Foundation's emerging strategic plan. This represents a true opportunity to exercise a high degree of creativity in improving organizational systems and performance at the Foundation.
